Best Western Canterbury Hotel
The Canterbury Hotel has a few quirks which make it stand out from the rest, including the restaurant which is housed in a greenhouse and the décor which reflects the Canterbury Tales throughout the hotel.
The lobby is spacious and filled with comfortable easy chairs and period décor including murals depicting the Canterbury Tales. The hotel also offers a smoking lounge for guests’ use along with a fitness centre and gift shop.
Rooms are classical but brightly coloured in reds and golds with artwork extending the Canterbury Tales theme from the public areas. Each room also contains a copy of the Canterbury Tales book for guests’ enjoyment. Bedding is unique and comfortable and you can expect to feel at home here. Breakfast is in a large greenhouse, full of beautiful specimen plants and trees, and leads out onto the outdoor garden where there are a variety of shrubs and sculptures. Evening dining is in the adjacent Streetside Café & Bar where the cuisine is Californian and full of fresh flavours. |
