Chancellor Hotel
The family run Chancellor Hotel was purpose built in 1914, when it was the tallest building in the city at 15 floors! It was opened in anticipation of the Panama Pacific International Exposition in 1915 and still has artwork reflecting the event.
Traditionally decorated, the hotel lobby is spacious and comfortable and is home to the bar, featuring a free wi-fi connection and a high speed internet terminal. Cookies, apples and gourmet coffee are provided in the lobby all day with the compliments of the management. The hotel is entirely non smoking, and you have free use of the fitness centre next door.
Bedrooms are also decorated in a traditional European manner with classical colour schemes featuring emerald green, creams, and rich dark furniture. For your comfort you can chose from 12 pillow types, including buckwheat and magnetic therapy. Each room has a games console, on demand movies and webTV (which there is charge for). Should you be heading out then an umbrella is provided – just incase! The bathrooms all feature deep baths with complimentary rubber duck!
Dining in the hotel is in the Luques Restaurant and Bar where there is leather bench seating around the perimeter of the room. Serving American meals the restaurant is limited to breakfast and lunch. |
