Commodore Hotel
Part of the Joie de Vivre chain of boutique hotels, the Commodore is a mix of bright and modern in colour and furnishings with traditional neo-deco architectural features. One of the nice things about this hotel is the offer of a free local guide to get you acquainted with the city. This guide, which must be requested in advance, will take you around and show you how to use the public transport as well as telling you about the best things to see including those usually hidden from visitors! To help you decide what to do each day there’s a “spin the wheel” for guest’s use in decision making.
The hotel lobby has bright harlequin patterned carpeting, yellow and blue seating and light wooden furniture and offers plenty of space to sit and relax, or use the one of the high speed internet terminals.
Bedrooms are larger than most rooms in a boutique hotel, are bright and have huge closets along with the usual amenities such as internet access, voicemail, coffeemaker and refrigerator. Bathrooms have full bath and separate shower. Bedding and curtains are in bold stripes and checks and compliment the rest of the warm decoration.
One of the main attractions of the Commodore is the Red Room, the hip cocktail lounge decorated completely in reds. A lovely place to enjoy a few drinks in the evening. |
