Fairmont Hotel
The Fairmont is in the Nob Hill area of San Francisco, is only 4 blocks from Union Square and is next to Chinatown. Directly across the road you will find the Grace Cathedral. It is very easy to access the cable cars from the hotel and is a ten-minute downhill walk to Fisherman’s Wharf, although coming back you’d be advised to use the transportation to avoid walking up the steep hill again! |

Fairmont Hotel
This hotel is very ornate, before you even go into the building you will marvel at the beautiful architecture of this 1906 building. The lobby is full of Corinthian marble columns, marble floors, luxurious carpets and furniture. This hotel is not for someone wanting a contemporary design with brand new fittings but is ideally suited for a romantic and luxurious break in a traditionally styled hotel.
Bedrooms are individually decorated in asian influenced creams and golds with marble bathrooms. You can expect a dual telephone line with high speed internet access in your room along with plush terry cloth robes, refreshment centre and extra long mattresses. Some rooms do not have an external view but a view of the interior courtyard.
The Tonga Room restaurant is a bit out of the ordinary with a live band playing on a floating island in the middle of a pool! This tiki themed restaurant serves Pacific Rim Asian cuisine and is known for it’s award winning mai tais! For more formal dining the Laurel Court Restaurant, crowned by three domes and very much the centre of the hotel, showcases regional ingredients and exclusive single vineyard designate wines. |
