For the budget conscious traveller this hotel ideal, it’s far enough away from Union Square to be lower in cost but is still close enough to make travelling around the city fairly easy. It can be a bit noisy due to the main thoroughfares of both Geary Street and Van Ness Avenue being close by.
The hotel lobby is elegant in marble and dark wood and features a fireplace and piano. Complimentary coffee is served all day. Bedrooms are clean and basic but comfortable. They are nicely decorated in autumnal browns and golds with cherry furniture and have large walk in wardrobes and ceiling fans, as well as the usual array of complimentary toiletries, telephone, safe and cable TV.
The Grey Derby Café serves a good breakfast and there are plenty of places to eat nearby for dinner. |
