Mosser Hotel
Built in 1913, The Mosser combines Victorian elegance with a modern and hip look. One of the attractions of the hotel is the built in recording studio which attracts musicians and muses alike. The owners are environmentally aware and apart from the organic apples provided in the rooms, part of the profits from the business go to funding rain forest conservation projects and to literacy and educational programs.
The lobby is ornate in marble with original Victorian features decorating the high ceilings and iron railings on the grand staircase.
Bedrooms are very small but clean and decorated well in Asian inspired colours. When designing the rooms the lack of space was taken into account and everything is of a minimalist nature, including the custom made beds which feature drawers below. The rooms have the expected amenities including CD player, small TV, bath robes, dual phone line and there’s wi-fi internet access throughout the building. From a total of 166 rooms, about 50 do not have a private bathroom, the shared facilities on every floor are very clean and a great deal for the budget conscious traveller.
Eating in the hotel is in Annabelle’s Bar & Bistro, where you can enjoy a large breakfast, lunch or dinner from a traditional San Francisco menu, all at moderate prices. |
