Pickwick Hotel
Built in 1926 and mentioned in the novel "The Maltese Falcon," you can’t miss this hotel with its neo-gothic architecture and it’s huge seven-story signage.
The marble lobby is grand and spacious with an intimate marble mezzanine level looking over it.
Bedrooms are in a French provincial style, richly decorated in creams, golds and reds with padded headboards and heavy curtains. Rooms have the usual amenities including bathrobes, games console, coffeemaker and multi phone line.
Dining in the hotel is limited to breakfast, which is taken in the Pickwick Café set in the corner of the lobby, looking out onto Mission Street and 5th Street. |
