Ramada Plaza International Hotel
The building was constructed just after the 1906 earthquake as a temporary city hall and still retains a number of the period’s architectural features. (Still has jail cells in the basement as well!!)
The lobby is huge with 30-foot ceilings and is lavishly ornate in an old style with marble throughout, Austrian crystal chandeliers and beautiful Tiffany glazing.
Bedrooms vary is size and are tastefully decorated with patterned wallpaper and bright bedding and curtains. The high ceilings have original mouldings and furniture is antique styled. In your room you can expect to find a well-lit desk, voicemail, in-room movies and internet access.
The lobby has a branch of Starbucks where you will find the usual coffees and snacks, for a more substantial meal you can eat in Florinda’s Market Street Grill, which is very popular with theatre-goers, serving steaks and seafood. It is also open for breakfast and lunch. |
